Suncast Deck Box Review

Knowing where to put all your garden tools and out door gear can be a problem. A shed can be a good solution, but they are expensive and if you don’t have enough gear to justify one it can be a waste of space. Probably one of the first things that strikes you about this particular deck box is how nice it looks. It blends in with the rest of the outdoor décor and doesn’t draw too much attention to itself. So I’m glad to that Suncast has put as much thought into design as they have into functionality.

Another thing you should always look for in deck box is that it will be able to store your things securely. Even if all you are putting in the deck box is a couple of your old garden tools, it’s still nice to know they are being properly protected. This deck box is really water tight. It’s manufactured from UV-resistant poly resin which makes for nice solid construction. The lid has a water funnel so that the water doesn’t pool on the top of the deck box. This is a great deck box if you live in an area which gets a lot of rainfall. This deck box can handle a storm and still manage to keep your tools dry.

You do have to put this deck box together however. It’s really not that difficult though as all the part snap together and so you don’t need much in the way of tools or know how for assembly. A couple of safety points about using the deck box. Even though the construction on this deck box is really solid I wouldn’t recommended letting your children play on it. Also deck boxes aren’t designed as seats so you don’t want to be sitting on it on a regular basis either.

One other thing, with all deck boxes you want to make sure that they will fit whatever you want to put in it before you purchase it. This is a big 50 gallon deck box. But you will want to measure whatever you will be placing in the deck box first. In particular if you have a large patio cushions you might want to collect these up and see how much space you will need. No point in buying a deck box which isn’t going to fit your stuff!
